INVESTITURE CEREMONY

“Leaders become great, not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower others”

On the fine morning of 25th June, 2023 the school held the Investiture Ceremony with great enthusiasm. It marked a significant beginning of the new academic year. It was a solemn occasion where the young students were all prepared to don the mantle of leadership and discharge the responsibilities entrusted upon them by the school. To inculcate the leadership qualities in students and to give them a feel of leaders and a sense of responsibility a team of heads is formed this year.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

“It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver”

Overall Health is better seen at no other stage in our life than in our childhood. Yoga does exactly this to our body and mind. With its three components of physical exercise, meditation and spirituality, it nurses us back to the kind of health we would have in childhood.

TEACHERS’ DAY – AN HONOR

A great teacher is warm, accessible, enthusiastic and caring. Great teachers possess good listening skills and take time out of their way-too-busy schedules for anyone who needs them. International Teachers’ Day was celebrated on 5th November, 2019 to honor the teachers for their special and studious contribution. Games were conducted for the teachers on that day.

PONGAL CELEBRATION – A SMILE OF NATURE

The thanksgiving ceremony for the harvest of the year was celebrated on 13th January, 2017 in a pompous manner. The delegations, staff and students contributed their munificent hands in preparing pongal and beautifying the campus with their supercilious kolams.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION – AN INCANDESCENT CELEBRATION

An expression of awe escaped the lips of the viewers of a lucid and incandescent celebration of the Republic Day on our campus. Colonel Jayson Peterson acceded to crown the occasion and gently electrified the students by addressing them as the harbingers of future corruption free India

FIELD TRIP

“Architecture is the will of an epoch translated into space”

The one-day trip to Mahabalipuram, Pallava dynasty, was obviously an antidote to the stress and routines of the students. The art and architecture of the ancient sculptors tend to be a mesmerizing visual treat. It was a tribute to the glory of the Pallava reign. Each embedded in the sculptures was unfolded by the tourist guide. The students were awestruck to reckon those stories.

SUCCESS IS WHERE PREPARATION AND OPPORTUNITY MEETS

The students of the Galaxians are the sole proprietors of fame and achievements. Their mere presence on the fields proclaimed their victory throughout the year. They toured across the country and multiplied the laurels of the crown of the school.

GK AND INTER QUIZ COMPETITION

This form of a game or mind sport, kindled the curiosity of students participated from various schools. This informative feedback device allowed the instructor and the students to see whether they are excelling or need more focus. Resource people from Chennai conducted this Inter quiz competition on Fairy Tales.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

A solemn occasion to don the mantle of leadership. It is a trail pack for the students to lead the world. The investiture Ceremony was celebrated in the month of August '17. Our Young leaders were proudly invested to their posts by the chief guest Mr.Tamilselvan A.D.S.P .The class perfect, Asst class perfect, house leaders and the president and secretary received their badges and took the oath to lead the school with discipline, sincerity and modesty.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

TEACHERS DAY

Teachers felt excited to be wished by the little angles. There were a few events for the teachers.... To venerate their level of hidden skills, teachers took part in a few funny competitions. Teachers change lives with just a right mix of chalk and challenges to enlighten the path of success. This small break from their routine on that day made them cheerful and kindled smiles on their faces which were a reward for the teachers.

CELEBRATION OF FESTIVALS

Unity is strength…. We as a Galaxian family irrespective of religion, we celebrate every festival…..here we go for a journey of celebrations. CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION “Christmas is the time to give and forgive”. Our whole school was decorated with colourful, twinkling stars, sparkling balls and jingling bells. Our students gave an enthusiastic Cadance / Carol performance on the eve of Christmas at the Cathedral of SACRED HEART CHURCH. Their music and rhythm took us all to an experience brimming with X-Mas trees was a fantastic sight. Santa made a grant carnival entry into the school. Finally we bid a wonderful farewell to the year gone by and welcomed the new year gone by and welcome the new year with optimism and hope.

DIWALI CELEBRATION

The festival of lights was observed in our school premises by conveying the theme Safe Diwali;. by setting an example, by wearing mask on the face of kids while cracking those crackers. We also learnt that safety is very important too.

KRISHNA JEYANTHY

Our little tots from Pre-primary and KG compartment represented their religious spirit by prettifying themselves like Lord Krishna. This whole ambiance was filled with bliss of heavenly devotional serenity.

VINAYAGAR CHATHURTHI

Children were given the golden opportunity of dressing up like Lord Vinayagar.Poojas with prasath were performed to Lord Ganesha. It filled the entire atmosphere with a deep rooted devotional spirit

NAVARATRI GOLU

Our twinkling learners enjoyed the true Indian culture inside our school. Our KG Compartment exhibited golus in their own classroom, and created an ambiance filled with colourful and resplendent golu dolls. All the students contributed to exhibit a grandeur gallery of golus at the portico, where everyone witnessed, it with an awe-feeling.

CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES

"An ounce of practice is worth more than tons of preaching" to presume the saying our teachers encourages quality in every student and inspire them to believe in one's own creativity. Creative activities along with curriculum gains their interest for learning. We uphold our heritage with rare craft and authenticity, with passion in everything we do which was quite evident from the performances in the classroom activities.

HINDI DIWAS

Hindi was announced as India’s Official Language by the constitution assembly On September'17 1947. To commemorate this, Hindi Diwas was celebrated in our school. A special performance a Hindi skit, singing a Hindi Song and a vibrant, speech in Hindi were held.

MOM AND ME

Our kg kids with their mom were rocked with the task given to them. Our sportive moms had a wonderful time at school. They posed for photographs, participated in variety of events to bring out their dedication and passionate child reading.

GOLU

Navarathri is one of the most significant and awaited Hindu festival. FIELD TRIP

“Nothing beats an exciting hands-on experience to deepen learning” By the second week of February, we were greatly excited as we were all set for the joyous field trip. Our KG kids , pre primary and primary learners were greatly excited as they all set for the joyous field trip to Sivagangai Park , South Zone and Aavin milk diary respectively and the learners of middle had a set off to Anna Sugar Mill. The children were flamboyant and thrilled as they were in a day out with their friends. The children were amazed to watch the paintings and miniatures displayed which developed their artistic creativity. It was really a splendid experience!

CHILDRENS DAY

It’s Time for some splashing Fun. Cheers and jolly time for every kid because it’s children’s day. Our teachers gave various performances for us in order to express their love and care. It’s a thorough entertainment with a few songs, dances, comic enactments. There was a giggle in every Velammalians face.

ONAM - FESTIVAL

Preparations for Onam celebrations was altogether on an grander scale. The day witnessed exuberant display of a beautiful floral art, the pookalam and sweetness of the festivity increased many folds by the adai pradhaman prepared by our loving teachers. The day ended with a cultural dance performed by primary girls and every one rejoiced the celebration.

Extracurricular activities:

Velammal Bodhi kids provide a conducive and encouraging environment.Kids are mentored to participate in the variety of intra and inter school activities. We conducted Art attack competition,Ganadors,Mom& Me and Daksha Utsav for kindergarten kids.

HINDI DAY

On 14th September 1949, India Constitution Assembly accepted Hindi as an official language. Later, Pt Jawaharlal Nehru announced this day to be celebrated as Hindi Diwas. National Hindi Divas - annual literary day was observed on 14th September. To commemorate this on the same date we the Velammalians celebrated Hindi Day in our school. A very special performance like, Hindi skit, singing a Hindi song and a vibrant speech in Hindi were held.
